Contact Portage Tow Truck
One number, answered by the people who drive the trucks. Call it and you will get a real ETA and a real price before anything leaves the yard.
Reaching us
Call First, Every Time
If you are stranded, pick up the phone. A call gets a truck moving in minutes; a form or an email might sit unread while you are standing on a shoulder. There is no queue and no menu — the line goes to one of the two people who actually run this business.
That includes 3 a.m. on a Sunday. We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, holidays included, and the person answering at night is the same person answering at noon. Nobody is going to take a message and pass it on in the morning.
Email is for the things that can wait — booking a long-distance move for next week, arranging vehicle transport, invoicing questions, or a property manager setting up regular removals. We read it, but we do not watch it minute by minute, so please do not use it when you are on the side of the road.
We are a mobile operation, so there is no waiting room or front counter to visit. The trucks work out of Portage across the 49002 and 49024 ZIP codes and roughly 20 miles beyond — we come to you, wherever you have ended up.

What to Have Ready
None of this is mandatory — call us even if you have none of it. But the more of these you can answer, the faster we can send the correct truck and quote you accurately on the first attempt.
1. Exactly where you are
A cross street, a mile marker, an exit number or a business name. On I-94 or US-131, tell us the direction of travel too — the difference between eastbound and westbound is a long way around.
2. Make, model and drivetrain
Front-wheel, rear-wheel, all-wheel drive or electric. This is what decides whether a wheel-lift is safe or your vehicle needs a flatbed, and getting it right on the phone saves a wasted trip.
3. What went wrong
Would not start, flat tire, out of gas, keys locked inside, off the road, collision. Half of these have a fix that is cheaper and faster than a tow, and we would rather find that out before dispatching one.
4. Where it needs to go
Your shop, your dealer, your driveway, or a storage lot. We have no repair shop of our own, so the destination is entirely yours to choose — but distance is the main thing that moves the price.
5. Anything awkward about access
Parking deck, tight driveway, soft shoulder, snowbank, low-clearance or lowered vehicle. Surprises on scene cost time; a sentence on the phone usually prevents them.
6. Whether anyone is hurt
If there are injuries or the vehicle is blocking live traffic, call 911 first. We will still come, but emergency services take priority over the tow, and we need to know what we are driving into.
Where we come to
Calls We Take Around Portage
Portage — 49002 and 49024
Our home ground and where the under-30-minute target applies. Westnedge, Shaver, Romence, Milham, Oakland and the residential streets in between.
I-94 and US-131
Both corridors run right past us. Give us the direction of travel and the nearest exit or mile marker and we will find you quickly, day or night.
Kalamazoo and Oshtemo
Downtown, the campus areas and the west-side commercial strips. A few minutes further out than Portage, and quoted accordingly.
The smaller towns
Vicksburg, Schoolcraft, Mattawan, Richland, Galesburg, Comstock and Parchment all sit inside the routine radius.
Businesses and property managers
Lots, apartment complexes and dealerships needing removals or repeat vehicle moves. Call and ask for David to set up an arrangement.
Booked long-distance moves
Out-of-county and out-of-state transport, scheduled ahead rather than dispatched on the spot. Quoted individually before you commit.
